Courtney and Matt Married

Love this pair and following all their adventures together! Instead of following this time, we got to document their great wedding adventure. Courtney and Matt were married at Hollow Creek Golf Club in Frederick MD. We were told straight away that the reception would be unforgettable and they didn’t disappoint. But before that, we enjoyed portraits in a weeping willow tree (until a swarm of bugs took over), a ceremony where the bride’s brother walked her down the isle and Matt made everyone cry with his sweet vows, and last but...

Lauren and Ken Married

You know those rare, exceptional days when it rains from sunrise to sunset… Lauren and Ken got married on one of those days in the Poconos. Which could be a metaphor for their unique love and personalities. From the moment I saw this pair together I knew I had to photograph their wedding, never mind that they weren’t engaged yet, anyone could see it was kismet. Because of their adventurous spirits, they wanted to incorporate the outdoors into their wedding. Each table was named after a hike they had completed together, their...

Sammy’s Bar Mitzvah

Sammy, a budding performer, has become a Bar Mitzvah! We met the family at B’nai Israel earlier in the week where Sammy successfully directed his own photo shoot. Thank you Sammy for the great ideas! We then headed to the awards ceremony, I mean Sammy’s party, at the Bethesda North Marriott where Sammy’s vision came to life. It started with an epic red carpet entrance followed by a performance on the piano and then awards were given during the candle lighting. Major props to Brynne at Pop Color Events and MC Moses for...

Katharine and Gary Married

Katharine and Gary were married at the Airlie Center on the 7th anniversary of their first date. These two high school sweethearts had one of the most gorgeous weddings we’ve photographed. Soft, romantic, vintage details were paired with an updated style and a dash of Scottish heritage. At the reception guests enjoyed a cigar and candy bar, a clear roof tent to appreciate the beautiful surroundings, and a very spirited entertainer with a flawless voice, Alfio. Tara of Perfect Planning Events and her team did an amazing job as always!...

Changes Ahead

Posted by on 8:55 pm in News | 12 comments

There are lots of changes brewing (and growing) with Jess and I. As you all know, Jess and Nils are expecting their first child in early July! We are all so thrilled to meet baby Latos/Thomsen and document her adventures with poodles, Abigail and Parker. The news that might come as a shock is that I will be leaving the DC area in January 2016. Phil and I have decided to sell most of the things we own, buy a van, and spend a year traveling the United States and Canada. We will spend our time hiking, rock climbing and visiting friends. And of...

Ellen and Ryan Married

Ellen and Ryan’s wedding was like a simple love song. Sweet, intimate, beautiful. The pair were married at Woodend Sanctuary in Chevy Chase MD. It was the perfect backdrop for an event filled with love, laughter and their non-traditional style. Ellen was pretty in pink! A perfect choice for the daytime event. Guests enjoyed lawn games, tulips, and tasty treats. Often our favorite part of the reception is speeches and toasts, its when we get to know our clients the best. These speeches didn’t disappoint and made it even more clear...

Michele and Ryan Married

Michele and Ryan were married at the picturesque Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick, MD. After the first look and while we photographed the wedding party, the guests enjoyed a wine tasting near the ceremony site. They then watched as the pair exchanged vows while carpenter bees buzzed around their heads. The reception included heartfelt speeches, delicious food, dancing, and one epic bouquet catch. These families were filled with so much love, fun and ridiculousness! And were a blast to document. venue- Running Hare Vineyard hair and...

Jen + Justin Married

One big happy family! That is what Jen and Justin have. And the love they have for their family shows in the way they love each other. The pair were married at one of our favorite venues, Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, VA. Their coordinator, Delia Anne, was a pleasure to work with. Rain was inevitable, but it held off just long enough to complete the ceremony and family portraits. It drizzled while Justin twirled Jen in the field and then came down when we are all tucked away in the barn for the reception. This wedding was full of...

Allyson + Perry Married

Sometimes all you want is to be with someone that makes you laugh and Allyson and Perry are surrounded! The pair were married at the Gaithersburg Marriott in the Washingtonian Center under a beautiful chuppah and an isle lined with cherry blossoms. The soft elegant details were the perfect opposite to the fun, lively crew. A few details that stand out… the first look with an emotional audience, the non traditional father/daughter dance, and the amazingly talented band, Spectrum. Venue: Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center Flowers:...
