The Northwest July 2012

Posted in Personal

As most of you know Paired Images took a two week break last month for my wedding in Redwoods National Park.  No, the wedding photos are not ready yet, but the vacation photos are!  I’ve been blogging this two week excursion backwards, first Ben and Christina’s wedding, which was actually last on our trip and now the vacation in between weddings.  Next will be “Jessica and Phil Married”.  But now the Northwest.  Phil and I landed in Portland and drove the coast to California.  Along the way we found a  66-foot-long, 7-foot-tall concrete and plastic foam dock from Japan that washed up on Agate Beach after the tsunami.  My dad just sent me this article today about its removal… http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-08-02/tsunami-dock/56690180/1.  A few days after the wedding we headed to Crater Lake, OR, one of the most geologically interesting places we’ve ever been.  From there we traveled to Mt. Rainier, WA and were in awe of the huge glacier and numerous waterfalls.  And then finally to the ferry from Seattle to Brainbridge Island.
