KidServe Care Packages to The Troops

Posted in Volunteer

Heads up troops! KidServe families are sending care packages your way! They actually went out today. Sunday was the second ever KidServe event and the goal was to collect items to send to the troops as well as make stationary for them so that they could send birthday or holiday cards home to their families. The Soltis family came in to talk about what it is like being a family in the military. They shared stories of deployment and living conditions, photos and answered some pretty tough questions from the kids. The group ended up sending 11 packages filled with all kinds of stuff from deodorant to candy to books. A big thanks to the Soltis family for coming out, Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape for helping to raise money for this project, the Emmert and Ferguson families for preparing the stationary and everyone who came out and donated their time and supplies! The next KidServe event is Sunday April 22, 2012. Can’t wait to see you there! Oh, and check out their Facebook page!
