Another 2013 wedding with great clients, perfect weather and awesome vendors. Pierre smiled ear to ear the whole day and Amanda looked stunning. This lively, goofy bunch had us on our toes the whole day, there was never a dull moment! I can’t say enough about the staff at The National City Christian Church and The Madison Hotel, their professionalism and positivity made the day go so smoothly. Pierre’s gift to his groomsmen were one of the most unique gifts we’ve seen, handmade hollow books to fit an engraved flask for play and a utility knife for work. And this photobooth rivals all of our previous ones. Amanda and Pierre… we hope you are enjoying your honeymoon!

Emily and Tre’s Birthday Bash

Emily and Tre’s birthdays are only days apart so naturally they have a joint party. This year with Emily turning 5 and Tre turning 2 the theme was Dora and Diego. Monet (their mom) pulled out all her event planning tricks and made this a birthday to remember. There was a moon bounce, games, crafts, prizes, a pinata and much more. The invitations were the awesome little back packs you see below. The kids were given safari hats, vests made from paper grocery bags and maps to lead them to all the fun party stations. Can’t wait to see what she has planned for next year!

April was a wonderful start to our 2013 weddings! Great weather, awesome vendors, and fun clients. This wedding at the Josephine Butler Parks Center had all of that and more. Our clients have asked us not to reveal their names or faces, but we wanted to share their wedding story to you in details. A huge thank you to Farm to Feast for the delicious food and decor. We would highly recommend them for any event!

Our first wedding of 2013 included a giant Oriole! I could go on and on about how awesome this pair is but I think its best summed up by the cartoon they had printed on the back of their program…

Susie: HEY CALVIN! Are we near a slaughterhouse, or did you forget you deodorant?

Calvin: Drop dead Susie! You’re so ugly I hear you mom puts a bag over your head before she kisses you goodnight.

Calvin to audience: Its shameless the way we flirt.

The rest of the comic is Hobbes describing love as that funny feeling you get in your stomach, sweaty palms, and mush for brains and Calvin exclaiming that he has had those symptoms but thought he just had cooties. Emily and Ben Engaged

Emily and Ben don’t live in DC anymore, but it will always be the place where they met and fell in love. We were hoping for a cherry blossom filled weekend during their visit, but were a few days too early. The pair still had a blast touring the monuments including the Jefferson Memorial where Ben proposed and Emily’s beloved water features. Their next visit to DC will be the wedding!

Here she is world! An adorable bundle of little girl joy. We met Meagan and her husband Andrew at our once client now dear friend and photo ambassador Erin’s wedding. We were so happy to be able to photograph their new addition and meet the whole family! The boys were so well behaved and doted on their new little sister by dishing out kisses right and left.

This is one of those families that is easy to fall in love with. I first met them at Ellesse and Eric’s wedding and was thrilled when Carolyn contacted me to photograph Gloria’s 75th birthday party. I think this first photo sums up Gloria, youthful, kind and strong. Also, the food was fit for a queen!

Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!! We got to work with the awesome Anfon Ha, owner of Aha! Concepts and make beautiful images for a company that we love. SPAGnVOLA is our local chocolate shop just a few doors down from the studio. You may have had heard us exclaim about their bonbons, truffles, hot chocolate and lattes over and over again on our Facebook pages. If you have not checked them out yet you must! While you are at it take a tour. They make the chocolate in the basement!
