Julia + Brad Married

So many awesome details, vendors, and prettiness, we were beside ourselves! Julia and Brad were married at The Oaks Waterfront Inn in Easton Maryland on an inlet of the Chesapeake Bay. The pair met in law school and the Julia worked for the judge that married them. Highlights included a raw bar at cocktail hour, a crazy dessert spread and shooting stars. And of course the greatest thing of all… twirling. venue- The Oaks Waterfront Inn makeup- Amie Decker Beauty hair- Denita Brown at Jewel Hair Design florist- Seaberry Farm dj- Anthony...

Jen + Justin Married

One big happy family! That is what Jen and Justin have. And the love they have for their family shows in the way they love each other. The pair were married at one of our favorite venues, Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, VA. Their coordinator, Delia Anne, was a pleasure to work with. Rain was inevitable, but it held off just long enough to complete the ceremony and family portraits. It drizzled while Justin twirled Jen in the field and then came down when we are all tucked away in the barn for the reception. This wedding was full of...

Allyson + Perry Married

Sometimes all you want is to be with someone that makes you laugh and Allyson and Perry are surrounded! The pair were married at the Gaithersburg Marriott in the Washingtonian Center under a beautiful chuppah and an isle lined with cherry blossoms. The soft elegant details were the perfect opposite to the fun, lively crew. A few details that stand out… the first look with an emotional audience, the non traditional father/daughter dance, and the amazingly talented band, Spectrum. Venue: Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center Flowers:...

Megan + Cory Married

Happy Snow Day! I have been meaning to blog this one for a few months now and since we are all stuck home I figure today is the day! These two goofballs got married at the Jack Rose Dinning Saloon in DC. Megan and Cory were so much fun to photograph! We walked around the block taking photos of the two of them then headed in for the ceremony and cocktail party. As the pair stepped up to the bar good friend Clay was waiting there to marry them. One of my favorite ring shots of the year is below… thanks to my assistant Mark Johnson for...

A Rooftop Proposal

This past weekend we photographed Mark’s proposal to Lindsay on the rooftop of the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Bethesda MD. Mark had been planning this for some time. First he went to Leslie Sandler for the perfect ring, then lost 16 lbs, named a star after Lindsay, hired us, made an awesome collage explaining all the ways he loves her, and had his brother set up the rooftop. Lindsay’s reaction was priceless and the energy was infectious! Lindsay’s first phone call was to her 6 year old son to tell him the good news. The...

Joe’s Bar Mitzvah

Joe’s Bar Mitzvah was our last event of 2014! Both the service and party were held at Lakewood Country Club. Joe’s aunt flew east from California to perform a very special service. The theme of the party, “Not Your Average Joe”, was executed perfectly by Fox Ventures. Talk of the Town provided the games and entertainment. MC Spots and his crew at Glyde Productions kept the party lively and the adults on the dance...

Jared’s Bar Mitzvah

The last one is always bittersweet. The third and final Katon Bar Mitzvah went out with a bang! They have been part of our Paired Images family since the beginning and now there are drivers licences and college applications. But just because they age doesn’t mean the jokes, love, silliness and laughter stop, in fact its only grown for this family. We took formal portraits at Temple Beth Ami in Rockville, MD where the service was held. For the party at Norbeck Country Club, Jared’s mom, Michelle, went with a hockey theme to reflect...

Ashley + Sean Married

Ashley and Sean’s wedding had some firsts for us… first wedding we’ve shot in West Virginia, first time we’ve had a bride hug her guests on her way up the isle, first time we’ve seen moonshine on the tables, etc. There was a sign by the escort cards that read, “You can find your seat here, but your place is on the dance floor.” Ashley meant every word in that sign and if you weren’t on the dance floor she made it happen. At this event there were tears but not without laughter, sparkly details, a...

Colleen + John Married

Colleen and I met 20 years ago walking to high school to start our freshman year. She made me feel welcome in a new town and I kept her sane through her many endeavors. So naturally I was thrilled to hear of her engagement and ready to keep her calm through wedding planning! It was also fun getting to know John through the wedding process and seeing what a good match they make. We started at Colleen’s childhood home on the day of the wedding and then went to St. Mary’s in Rockville, MD for a Catholic ceremony. Of course the...

Bridget and Gary Married

The Hotel Monaco DC has become one of our favorite venues, of course it is an awesome space with lots of opportunities for great photos and an extremely efficient staff, but some of our most favorite weddings have taken place here. Bridget and Gary are no exception and having them as clients was kismet! They chose to do their first look on our favorite monument, The DC War Memorial, where we encountered a segway tour, friendly squirrels, and a gymnast. Then it was back to the Hotel Monaco DC for the sweetest ceremony ever. To quote the...
